Todd Gordon is one of the UK’s acclaimed jazz/swing singers and radio presenters. He has recorded almost 200 editions of his weekly show, Todd’s Turntable, which features many of the world’s greatest singers performing terrific songs.
Each edition has a theme… songwriters, arrangers, or categories of songs, etc – all wrapped up with Todd’s warm and engaging commentary highlighting his passion for and knowledge of jazz, swing and related musical genres.
Aged just 11, he started listening to Sinatra recordings and this led him to also collect albums by other singers, bandleaders, arrangers and musicians. A lifelong passion was born. This was consolidated in 1975 when, still a teenager, he met Ella Fitzgerald who later that day invited the young fan on stage during her concert to serenade him withYou Are the Sunshine of My Life – an endearing article on this amazing encounter is featured on his website: www.toddgordon.com
Todd’s performed across the UK and internationally, and worked with terrific singers such as Jacqui Dankworth, Clare Teal, Barbara Morrison, Claire Martin, Ian Shaw, Clairdee and James Tormé. He’s recorded five albums including one with a big band and received great reviews, plus feedback from songwriters whose work he’s covered on his most recent album including Mike Stoller, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Jake Holmes and Stephen Sondheim.
